2nd and 3rd Shift Supervisor

Paxton Ministries, a non-profit Christian community of homes providing help and housing to individuals challenged with poverty, mental illness, and intellectual disabilities, has an opening for a full-time 2nd and 3rd Shift Supervisor. This position requires an average of 40 hours per week worked over 4 weekdays and every other weekend (from 1:00pm until 9:30pm), with one weekly or bi-weekly day working 3:00pm until 11:30pm. Must have the ability to work 3rd shift hours on occasion.

The Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to supervise all 2nd and 3rd shift social services staff and coordinate scheduling for the department. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, and experience working in a similar Human Service agency is required. Supervisory experience is preferred. The successful candidate will possess a heart for working with mental and emotional challenges in a Christian residential care setting.

3rd Shift Housekeeping Assistant

Paxton Ministries, a nonprofit, Christian community of homes providing help and housing to individuals challenged with poverty, mental illness, and intellectual disabilities, has an opening for a 3rd Shift Housekeeping Assistant.   This position requires an average of 24 hours per week worked over 3 days – Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings (from 11:00 pm until 7:00 am).

The Housekeeping Assistant’s primary responsibility is to complete housekeeping tasks during the third shift hours and respond to emergencies and resident needs as needed.  Previous experience working in a similar facility is preferred and prior housekeeping experience is a must!  The successful candidate will possess a heart for working with adults with mental and emotional challenges in a Christian residential care setting.  Background check is required.

2nd Shift Resident Medication/Support Assistant

Paxton Ministries, a non-profit Christian community of homes providing help and housing to individuals challenged with poverty, mental illness, and intellectual disabilities, has an opening for a full-time 2nd Shift Resident Medication/Support Assistant.

The Resident Medication/Support Assistant’s primary responsibility is to accurately administer medications, assist with 2nd shift resident support coverage, and manage medication-related issues during the shift.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field is preferred or experience working in a medical setting or medically-oriented Human Service agency. Prior training in medication administration is helpful, but not required, and will be provided.  The normal work schedule is 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm Monday – Friday.

Receptionist

This position requires 24 hours per week worked over 3 weekdays (from 8:00am until 4:30pm),

The Receptionist’s primary responsibility is to perform main office administrative functions while providing courteous and efficient service to residents, staff, and visitors. Two years of experience working in an administrative role is preferred. A high school diploma is required. Must have the ability to multitask amidst disruptions and interruptions. The successful candidate will possess a heart for working with people with various challenges in a Christian residential care setting.

Part-Time Cook Team Member

Paxton Ministries, a nonprofit, Christian community of homes providing help and housing to individuals challenged with poverty, mental illness, and intellectual disabilities, has an opening for a part-time Cook Team Member. This position requires an average of 25 hours per week worked 2-3 business days (from 10:00 am until 6:30 pm) plus one weekend per month (from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm each weekend day).

The Cook Team Member’s primary responsibility is to prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals and contribute to the general up-keep of the kitchen and food storage areas. Previous experience working in a similar facility is preferred and additional culinary education is a plus! The successful candidate will possess a heart for working with adults with people with various challenges in a Christian residential care setting.

Voluntary Service Opportunity

Paxton Ministries is a Christian nonprofit community of homes providing affordable housing and support services to adults in need. The majority of our residents are challenged with poverty, mental illness, and intellectual disabilities. We currently have an opening for a part-time or full-time Voluntary Service Member.

Voluntary Service is open to adults of 18 years and older. These volunteers serve for six months to a year or more, live at Paxton Street Home, and work full or part-time alongside the staff. They receive free room and board and a bi-weekly stipend, ($75.00 for part-time-over 20 hours per week and $150.00 for full-time-over 40 hours per week), along with health benefits and vacation time if they work 40 hours per week. Past Voluntary Service members have helped with maintenance, resident activities, housekeeping, kitchen or receptionist duties, depending on their interests and our needs.  We would also welcome people working in development and social services.
