Paxton Ministries provides three types of residential settings for adults who may be challenged with social, mental, or emotional needs. In each of these settings, we accept residents regardless of their income, charging on a sliding-scale or percentage of income basis. Our goal is always to assist and empower the residents of our homes to live as independently as possible. Our three residential options fit in two program categories: Personal Care and Community Living.
Personal Care
Paxton Street Home
Paxton Street Home is a licensed Personal Care Home with a capacity to serve 85 residents located at 2001 Paxton Street in Harrisburg. Residents at Paxton Street Home receive three meals a day, assistance with their medication if needed, and assistance in managing their health care, finances, and other tasks of daily living. Paxton Street Home also has a vibrant activities program to encourage residents to stay active and have fun together. Paxton Street Home has 24-hour a day awake staffing. Community Living
Hudson Street Apartments and the Boas Street Lodge
In order to provide additional affordable, independent housing options for individuals with mental health challenges, Paxton Ministries also operates the Hudson Street Apartments and the Boas Street Lodge under the umbrella of our Community Living Program. These facilities provide housing and support for individuals who don’t need regular staff support at their residence, but can benefit from occasional check and the opportunity to build supportive relationships with other individuals who are a part of the Paxton Ministries’ community. Our vision is to continue expanding our Community Living options, both independent living apartments and Community Lodges, in the coming years.
