A Joyful Heart Is Good Medicine
(Proverbs 17:22)
By Michael Spellman and Shelva Leep

"Laughter, which usually surrounds fun, is in no shortage Paxton Ministries."

Image of three people dancing in unisonA laugh...an expression of joy, a mark of a home, and a part of who we are. There are many different laughs that make us special. There is a nervous little laugh when we are unsure of ourselves or a deep belly laugh when something strikes our sense of humor. All of these laughs can be found in our home, but especially at our banquets.

These are the celebrations we enjoy together each month as a community. This last month gave many opportunities for laughter. "Name That Laugh" was a hit. It was a game show where the audience had to identify individual laughs. It struck a chord in all of us to enjoy life and one another. Laughter, which usually surrounds fun, is in no shortage at Paxton Ministries, especially our banquets. I would even venture to say it is the mark of a true home where people share their lives, their love, their jokes, and their sense of humors. Banquets seem to be a beautiful time of fellowship, fun, and tons of laughter throughout the year.

When our community is able to gather together and have fun, we break down walls that separate people. Laughter at the banquets brings all of us together; it is something we all share in common. At Paxton Ministries, ministry goes far beyond the desk, rather it is found in the sharing of common bonds...and I’m pretty sure we all know how to laugh.
