Ministry to the Poor and Disadvantaged
If you feed those who are hungry and take care of the needs of those who are troubled, then your light will shine in the darkness, and you will be bright like sunshine at noon. (Isaiah 58:10)

Since the day our doors opened in 1981, God’s vision for Paxton Ministries has been care for the poor...the needy...the outcast.

To continue providing care to persons on limited incomes, we must charge rent on a sliding scale. We will never turn someone away based on lack of income.

This creates quite a revenue gap in our budget. Therefore we must look to concerned individuals, churches, businesses, foundations and other community sources to help make up the difference...so we can continue ministering to individuals regardless of their ability to pay.

Our financial need to support these residents during fiscal year 2007-2008 is $214,000.

Other Improvements
Maintaining gracious homes has also been a priority for us. A home without beauty is lifeless and dreary. This is specifically a priority for us because many of our residents come from backgrounds where a safe, comfortable home was not known.

On an annual basis, various improvements are necessary at our Paxton Street Home and other facilities to maintain these building’s gracious atmospheres. This year we complete the installation of new windows in most of Paxton Street Home, installed new roofs on both our main building as well as the Hudson Street Apartments, built a pergola, planted flowers in the center of our courtyard, installed new cabinets in our kitchen and began a major renovation of our first floor living room.

Together...We’ll Make a Difference
We can do great things, if we work together. We have the opportunity before us to enter the new year on solid footing...and to be prepared for God’s continued leading. Please prayerfully consider how you can help us to reach new heights.
