Full-Time Ministry Opportunities
We are regularly accepting applications from
motivated, ministry minded individuals interested in current or future
staffing position openings. Located in Harrisburg, PA we provide housing
and supportive services to 93 adults, primarily low-income, with mental
and emotional disabilities. The applicants hired will testify to a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ and have a heart for serving others. Full-time
service at Paxton Ministries is a life-style commitment, not just a job,
with most staff living in the buildings along side the residents and all
staff committing their lives in relationship building with the residents
and each other.
Current Position Openings:

PART TIME SOCIAL SERVICES TEAM MEMBER
This person, along with other team members, assists residents in all aspects of community living.
This is a full time position with hours that vary according to schedules of medication assistance and
other resident needs. These needs include personal hygiene, securing transportation, shopping, making
appointments, room care, and medication assistance. Individuals working in the social services department
will document resident progress, maintain files and act as a liaison between the resident, their family, employer,
case manager or other parties involved in their support. As a member of the staff at Paxton Ministries other
duties include assisting with emergencies, weekend duty and evening duty as scheduled each month plus
shared community tasks.
Skills of perception, understanding and caring for people are essential, as well as spiritual insight, maturity, and
patience, which come through having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This is a direct care staff position.
Preference will be given to a candidate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field,
or who has experience in a similar human service agency. The successful candidate will possess a heart for
working with mentally and emotionally challenged adults.
